I was able to sneak in a visit with my parents at their home in Barnard, VT this weekend; and the rain let up just enough for me to indulge in an improvisation outside on their property!
From the inside, moving with the added information of the wind, rain, and landscape rather than a more neutral indoor space was incredibly rich – taking inspiration from the fixed natural structures around me and the way they move within that structure (trees swaying, leaves twisting from their stems, wind winding between trunks, boulders settling downwards). And from the outside, reviewing the footage, I’ve been intrigued by the scale and perspective of my body in relation to the backdrop.
